I kept losing my Sony Bravia remote. The existing apps on the Play Store were either broken, covered in ads, or both — so I built my own. Sony Remote is a clean, open source Bravia TV remote app for Android, no ads, no nonsense. It uses the Sony REST API to control the TV over your local network, which is exactly why I needed the wifi IP plugin — I needed to know the device's IP address to discover the TV automatically. The app has over 5,000 downloads on Google Play and is still actively used.
